Nonclinical Toxicology
No teratogenic effects were observed in the studies conducted. In terms of non-teratogenic effects, administration of bupropion at oral doses up to 300 mg/kg/day to rats did not adversely affect male and female fertility. Patients experiencing such symptoms should discontinue bupropion and contact a healthcare professional immediately.
Healthcare providers should educate patients about the signs of hypersensitivity and instruct them to discontinue bupropion hydrochloride extended-release tablets (SR) if they experience a severe allergic reaction.
