Editorial Policy
Last Updated: October 1, 2025
At alldrugs.com (“AllDrugs” or “we,” “us,” “our”), our mission is to provide accurate, up-to-date, and trustworthy drug information. This Editorial Policy describes how we develop, review, and update the content on our site to ensure reliability and transparency.
1. Data Sources & Monitoring
- FDA SPL Files: We constantly monitor the FDA’s repository (e.g., Dailymed) for new and updated Structured Product Labeling (SPL) data. We use SHA checksums to verify the integrity of each SPL file. Once the FDA publishes changes, our system detects them within ten minutes.
- Other Authoritative Sources: We also source data from the FDA’s Orange Book and Purple Book, NSDE files, and official drug-insert files (SPL/DailyMed). We verify official checksums when available; otherwise, we fetch updates as is.
- 24-Hour Update Cycle: After detecting new or revised information, we typically update the site within 24 hours to reflect the latest safety warnings, dosages, or other drug details.
2. Content Creation Process
We follow a multi-step approach to ensure clarity and accuracy:
2.1 AI-Generated Draft
- Structured Drug information (e.g., active ingredients) is extracted from SPL files directly.
- Textual Drug information (e.g., indications, cautions) is extracted from the pertinent SPL files sections or other regulatory data.
- Our AI models organize and summarize this data into FAQs, drug profiles, and safety sections.
- Machine learning algorithms detect potential inconsistencies, flagging them for further human review.
2.2 Human Oversight & Validation
- Our editorial team (comprised of software engineers and data specialists) carefully fact-checks each AI-generated draft against official FDA labeling.
- We validate dosages, side effects, and contraindications to ensure compliance with FDA-approved labels.
3. AI Transparency & Limitations
- Review Process: While AI assists in compiling initial drafts, our general practice is to have editorial staff review and refine content for clarity and accuracy before publication.
- Educational Information Only: Content presented on this site is for general information purposes and does not constitute personal medical advice or diagnoses. We strongly encourage consulting a licensed healthcare professional for individualized treatment decisions.
- Periodic Updates: We strive to update content promptly when new FDA data or significant research emerges. In addition, we periodically review our published material (e.g., on a quarterly or semi-annual schedule) to maintain overall accuracy.
4. Independence & Neutrality
We do not accept sponsorships or advertisements that may compromise editorial integrity. Our goal is to offer unbiased drug information based solely on official labels, regulatory data, and established medical literature.
5. Contact & Corrections
If you notice any discrepancies, or if you wish to suggest improvements, please contact us at: support@alldrugs.com.
We strive to investigate and correct any identified errors promptly.
