Drug Overview
Liquid nitrogen is a cryogenic liquid that is primarily used for refrigeration and preservation purposes. It is the liquid form of nitrogen, a colorless and odorless gas that makes up about 78% of the Earth's atmosphere. In various applications, liquid nitrogen is utilized to freeze and store biological samples, food products, and other materials that require extremely low temperatures to maintain their integrity.
While the specific pharmacological mechanisms of action are not detailed, liquid nitrogen is known for its ability to rapidly cool substances, making it an essential tool in both medical and industrial settings. If you encounter liquid nitrogen, it's important to understand its uses and handle it with care due to its extremely low temperatures.
